Above shows the final standing of top 10 players based on 3
tournaments. The top 4 juniors are selected to represent the Country in the 8th
Bangkok Open from 31st March-7th April2008 They are: Yee Soon
Wei(19), Siti NurFatimah(16), Md Nur Ariffin(15), Md Aliuddin(17).Intensive training will
be carried out on these four selected players for 2 weeks in Brunei Chess Centre by Brunei
National coach Tair Vakhidov, before the junior team departs for Bangkok Open in Thailand.
The tournament will be held at Century Park Hotel, Pratunam, Thailand.
104 Players from 25 different countries including Russia, China, Hong Kong, Australia, England,
Finland and most ASEAN countries have registered. A total of 25 titled players will
participate, among them is the top seed GM Varuzhan Akobian rated 2599, from USA.(For more
