The Brunei Chess Federation is organising rapid and blitz chess tournaments at the Brunei Chess Centre, Berakas beginning today at 3pm.

For rapid chess, each player has 25 minutes to finish the game. There will be five rounds today, and four rounds on Sunday, starting from 10:30am onwards.

Blitz chess will begin on Sunday at 3pm after the rapid chess.

The rapid and blitz tournaments are open to all. Students under the age of 12 and 10 will only play amongst them-selves.

For the first time, chess has been included in the 8th Pesta Sukan Kebangsaan, to be held in June.

The upcoming chess tournaments may be seen as a preparation for the Brunei Chess Federation and players in this big event.
