This game was played in a round-robin GM tournament in Bangladesh. My opponent was GM Zia, the highest rated player in Bangladesh and he was the winner of the tournament. After four rounds, I had two draws whereas GM Zia had three wins and a draw. I decided to play for a win against the tournament leader.} 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nc6 5. Nc3 {The game began with a Sicilian Taimanov which I barely can recall the opening theory.} Qc7 6. Be3 a6 7. Qd2 Nf6 8. O-O-O Bb4 9. f3 Ne5 $5 10. Nb3 b5 11. Kb1 (11. Bd4 $5 {is a popular continuation.}) 11... Nc4 12. Bxc4 bxc4 13. Nd4 {After this move, I was out of book.} Rb8 14. Ka1 O-O 15. g4 d6 16. h4 ({Also interesting was} 16. g5 Nd7 17. g6 $5 hxg6 18. h4 {with the idea of h4-h5 opening the h-file.}) 16... Nd7 17. g5 Nc5 18. Nde2 Na4 19. Rb1 {Something must have gone wrong here with White's position. Most of his pieces were tied up with defence.} Bd7 20. h5 Qa5 21. g6 $5 {After this pawn sacrifice, the h-file was fully opened and the g-file was semi-open for the other rook.} fxg6 22. hxg6 hxg6 23. It was untouchable because of the next move.} ({Black can still save the game with} 24... Nxc3 25. Bxc3 (25. Nxc3 $2 exd4 26. Nd5 Rb5 $19 27. Qe7 $4 Qxa2+ $1 28. Kxa2 Ra5#) 25... Rf6 $11 {with roughly equal position}) 25. Nd5 $18 {It was unbelievable that after this move black with a piece up is completely lost. Most black pieces were miles away from his own king and the knight on d5 cuts the communication between the queen-side and the king-side. There was no decent defence against white's powerful attack.} Bd2 $6 ({More tenacious was probably} 25... d3 $5 26. Nef4 $1 Rxf4 $1 27. Qxf4 Qd8 (27... Re8 28. Nf6+ $1 gxf6 29. Qxf6 $18) 28. This game showed that despite rated 240 points lower, I as one of Brunei's chess players was capable of beating a grandmaster. And I believe that any other Brunei players can do the same. My next goal is to beat a 2600 GM!} 1-0
